New Year's Eve Dinner circa 2014

Roast Pork Belly
For New Year's eve, we had company over.
Relatives we haven't seen for a long time poured in before midnight struck and it made for a festive welcome of the coming year. Fortunately we prepared a big spread-- from a stunning roast pork belly made by my brother to a delightful pound cake specially baked for us by friends from Don Limone.

Wagyu Steak
Red Velvet Cupcakes
Pound Cake
Despite the huge turnout of guests, we still had enough left over to carry us through lunch the next day. It was an honest to goodness food overload.

At one point that night while I marveled at the sheer amount of food we loaded onto the dining table, I reminded myself that we are only allowed to do this this one time of the year. (OK, maybe one other time- Christmas.) Otherwise there will be no hope for summer.
