Fish Kiev by The Chocolate Kiss

Fish Kiev
Served with white wine scallion sauce, steamed vegetables and rice. P240
Or served with garlic mashed potatoes. P260

I am a loyal follower of the Chicken Kiev of The Chocolate Kiss Cafe. And by that I mean, whenever I sit down for a meal at that cafe, no matter how I tell myself that I will order something new from the menu, I always always always end up ordering Chicken Kiev. Always.

Around November of last year though, I broke the cycle. I ordered Fish Kiev. (Yes, it's just the fish version of the original favorite, but it's different nonetheless. So it counts.) And I did not regret the change, not one bit. The Fish Kiev, is a gold crusted roll of fish fillet filled with cream cheese, butter, and herbs. And, as if all that rich creamy goodness is not enough, it is generously draped with an exquisite wine scallion sauce. On the side are some steamed vegetables and a choice of rice or garlic mashed potatoes (I always choose mashed potatoes. It's still fish, afterall, and I figure, a few more calories won't hurt.) It's really quite delicious. It is a bit lighter on the tummy than its poultry sibling but the Fish Kiev is definitely not lacking in taste.

Oh, and before I forget, the Fish Kiev is served piping hot, and, boy, do I mean this as a warning.
