It's that time of the year again for collecting stamps for <b>Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf</b>'s the <i>Giving Journal</i>.<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6axHdOL2Ta4/VjRJEYdo-sI/AAAAAAAAHOU/aWVh5rcx-0Q/s1600/unnamed.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6axHdOL2Ta4/VjRJEYdo-sI/AAAAAAAAHOU/aWVh5rcx-0Q/s400/unnamed.jpg" width="357" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In case you haven't been getting this planner for the past few years like I have, every eligible drink you buy from CBTL entitles you to one stamp. You fill your Giving Journal booklet with these stamps (12 total) and you get the planner for free. As a bonus, CBTL will be giving out extra stamps for every purchase of their holiday drinks, <i>Toffee Nut Ice Blended</i> and <i>Winter Dream Tea Late</i> on November 9.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
There are many reasons to want the Giving Journal. One, it is lovely with 4 colors to choose from. Second there are vouchers inside that entitle you to freebies and exclusive promos throughout the coming year. And most important of all, proceeds of this campaign go to charity. </div>

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cpoGxJj2AqE/Vipyc5BTnpI/AAAAAAAAHNU/MpvDfWEbdAQ/s1600/21776231874_49e8a937ab_k.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cpoGxJj2AqE/Vipyc5BTnpI/AAAAAAAAHNU/MpvDfWEbdAQ/s640/21776231874_49e8a937ab_k.jpg" width="456" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are so pretty. I found them in SM Makati and couldn't resist buying them. A set of 3 glass bottles for Php300, I thought it was a good deal. Although, it is partly nostalgia.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k813YTKnyLo/Vip3axog_5I/AAAAAAAAHNk/XqSZx-9h8Nc/s1600/21777743193_a9d1ba9a72_z.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k813YTKnyLo/Vip3axog_5I/AAAAAAAAHNk/XqSZx-9h8Nc/s200/21777743193_a9d1ba9a72_z.jpg" width="142" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I remember how Magnolia fresh milk used to come in these really thick glass bottles. Remember those? They came with a crimped cardboard cap and an inner cardboard seal with a tab for easy lifting. Imagine, three times the thickness of these bottles I got from SM, and they came free with the milk. How I wish I saved some of those bottles. Instead now I'm paying for my milk bottles...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway. I also wanted nicer containers to transfer leftover canned milk- condensed or evaporated- into. Since, you know, you really can't leave leftover milk in a can sitting in the fridge somewhere for later consumption. Not safe. I also like that these bottles come with measurement markings. It's a nice touch, quite handy for when I could not find my measuring cups. Jealous yet?</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i>Guess what we're having for dinner.</i></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Been craving for truffled cream pasta ever since my friend, Faye, mentioned it a couple of days ago. So one day when my brother and I went grocery shopping, I picked up some ingredients so I could make the pasta dish at home. Rather fancy ingredients they are, and oh so lovely to look at. I'd take a food basket of these over a bouquet of flowers any day.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Mushroom pasta with truffled cream or any pasta of the sort oftentimes fetch a premium price on restaurant menus. Admittedly, the ingredients are not the cheapest nor the easiest to find in local supermarkets. But if there's a will, there's a way. I found this bunch in Rustan's Supermarket - Glorietta. The dried wild mushrooms (there's <i>porcini</i> there somewhere) were on sale, at Php287, so <i>naturally</i>, I took it as a sign that I simply must make truffled cream pasta at home. I got a bottle of truffle flavored extra virgin olive oil for Php279, which is a steal in my opinion. Since this was going to be a fairly elegant dish, I skipped the parmesan cheese and went straight for <i>parmigiano reggianno</i>, 80 grams of it for Php200. Same idea with the pasta and cream I chose to use. The spaghetti is <b>De Cecco</b> (Php123) and the cooking cream, <b>Elle and Vire</b> (Php63.45).</div>

Found myself in Singapore again this year, this time for the <a href="http://www.singaporegp.sg/" target="_blank">Singapore Grand Prix</a>. It is a wonderful experience, and a proper bucket list item, I believe. The event is so well-managed, the venue definitely scenic, and the entertainment lineup is megawatt-powerhouse awesome: Pharrell, Spandau Ballet, Maroon 5, and Bon Jovi. It is an F1 race and a music festival all rolled into one. That is why, despite my squeamishness about air travel, I am so glad I agreed to go. Also, I am quite smitten by the Singapore food scene.</div>

The food choices in Singapore are so diverse. But I am always always drawn to the hole in the wall restaurants and hawker stalls. I never remember the names of the places we go to, but that does not mean that the food is not memorable.</div>

Duck dishes are a lot more common and cheaper in Singapore compared to Manila, and even the hawker places offer them. In fact, the best ones, I am told, are sold by hawkers.<br />
<br />
<div>
Come to think of it, it's primarily the reason why I wasn't able to try Hainanese Chicken Rice in Singapore on my first trip there. We were so mesmerized by the multitude of duck-based dishes that we absent-mindedly ordered duck meal after meal. This time though, I made sure I had at least one chicken rice meal. I ordered it from a street-side eatery which we noticed, on the way to Marina Bay Circuit, to be quite popular. But I still did get my fair share of duck noodle and country-specific McDonald's menu like the Ebi Burger and full-on Western food fare at Morganfield's.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Singapore is a "walking city," and this recent trip I think we walked even more than the last time. I never took the train this time and we hardly took a cab. Honestly, I was pretty wasted every end of race day. The good part about it though is that we got to see a lot more food places and this made our meals so much more interesting- like a food treasure hunt, it was.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qiZrTF_vg0g/ViMyKxUxevI/AAAAAAAAHMU/qq90R8628wI/s1600/Coffee-P.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-qiZrTF_vg0g/ViMyKxUxevI/AAAAAAAAHMU/qq90R8628wI/s200/Coffee-P.jpg" width="142" /></a>There was this dimsum place we always pass by on the way to the circuit that was always packed, a line of people waiting to be seated way into the wee hours of night. So we decided to go there at 2AM. No more line, but still a considerable amount of clientele, at 2 in the morning imagine. But, yeah, truly amazing dimsum right there. Mara liked to order Milo Dinosaur in an Indian cuisine eatery just around the corner from our hotel. The mound of Milo they put in that thing you will not believe.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What helped me wake up every morning though was the coffee that little sister gets for me from the food court just beside our hotel. It came in an unassuming styro cup made easy to carry by a plastic sling. It was cheap but is so rich, almost like hot chocolate, that it perked me well enough to face another day at the races.</div>

Been flexing my light green thumb. I got a plastic plant box, a pair of plastic pots, and some organic soil. Then I bought some plants from the local plant nursery. I bought a fruiting <i>kalamansi</i> plant and stuck it in one of the pots and the other pot housed a lemon seedling that I got from my brother. The plant box is where I put my Japanese Peace Lily. My inspiration for the peace lily is Hot Fuzz. If you don't get the connection, look up the movie Hot Fuzz and you'll see. A pair of white flowering plants whose name I've already forgotten flank the lily on both sides of the plant box.<br />

Seeing my plants thrive brings quite a bit of joy actually, and I like how I only have to water them about twice a week. So low maintenance. Try doing that with herbs, right? As for the onion, I just decided to stick one in the soil one day and <i>viola!</i> It's alive! (I wonder if I can cook with it.)</div>

My friends, Gen, Pepper, and Faye wanted to go on a little road trip to Tagaytay for quite some time so finally last Sunday, we went. Gen, probably because I talked about it a lot, suggested we sup at <b>Don Limone</b>. I said absolutely, of course.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After an unsuccessful (Don't ask.) attempt to buy soaps and other toiletries from Ilog Maria Bee Farm in Silang which was redeemed by a trip to The District Tagaytay where a store, Bella Rosa Farm, carried Ilog Maria products, we proceeded to Don Limone. We took Mahogany Road and at the end right before it merges back to Aguinaldo Highway marked by the Police Station on the left, we turned right into that gate that leads to the compound where our dining destination was.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We ordered <i>Mixed Espetada Royale</i> which is supposedly good for 4-5 people. I keep forgetting "serves 4-5" for Don Limone means it could easily feed 6. The Mixed Espetada Royale which is a huge platter of grilled beef, chicken, braised lamb shank and fish, rice, potatoes, and other vegetables, comes with 4 first course meals of your choice (we chose <i>Hummus En Fuego</i>, <i>Muhammara Parmegiana</i>, <i>Feta Caponata</i>, and <i>Amaretto Pumpkin Potage</i>). For drinks, we all ordered refillable ice teas. With my ever favorite complimentary focaccia bread with strawberry balsamic dip, I already knew we we literally bit more than we could chew. Despite it, we still ordered dessert- Saffron and Dates and Pomegrenate cheesecakes. We didn't stand a chance<i>.</i> Ah but no matter- it only means there is more Don Limone to enjoy at home.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This happened when I wanted to make traditional Japanese fried rice and I did not have the rest of the ingredients on hand. It has since been a family favorite.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You will need good quality crabsticks for this. The kind that shreds into strings and not those that have the texture of a shabu-shabu squid ball when you cut them. The stringy kind is usually more expensive, about Php700 per pack. These are the crabsticks that are used for sashimi, maki, or sushi. They are also harder to find. We've gotten ours from Japanese groceries or Rustan's Supermarket.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/tinnyland/albums/72157659825692921" title="Kani Fried Rice"><img alt="Kani Fried Rice" height="171" src="https://farm1.staticflickr.com/700/22163435391_01d6468765_m.jpg" width="240" /></a><script async="" charset="utf-8" src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js"></script></div>
<script async="" charset="utf-8" src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js"></script>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Getting the right kind of <i>kani</i> is perhaps the only hard part of this recipe. Well, that is if you already have <i>mirin</i> or Japanese sweet rice wine, in your pantry.</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><b>Kani Fried Rice</b></span><br />
<br />
<i>Ingredients</i><br />
2 tablespoons sesame oil<br />
1 onion, chopped<br />
2 large eggs, beaten<br />
2 1/2 cups cooked white rice<br />
1 tablespoon Kikkoman soy sauce<br />
1 tablespoon mirin<br />
8 kana crab sticks, cut up into 3/4 inch cubes<br />
salt and pepper to taste<br />
<br />
<i>Instructions</i><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Heat oil in a large pan. Saute the onion in the oil until translucent. Add cooked rice and stir fry for about two minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add the mirin and stir. Add the soy sauce until all the grains of rice is uniformly coated a nice tinge of brown.<br />
<br />
Make a well in the middle of the rice until the bottom of the pan is exposed. Pour the beaten eggs in the "rice well". Stir with a fork as if making scrambled eggs. When clumps of cooked scrambled egg appear, fold over the rice and stir fry until the egg is combined.<br />
<br />
Add the crab stick cubes and stir fry until evenly distributed in the rice. Serve hot.</div>

Today, I did some shopping. I found this pair of high-waist flared-bottom jeans that I've been pining for, at Mango no less, and I couldn't believe it cost less than a thousand pesos. Special price, the cashier tells me when she recognized the disbelief in my face as I paid for the jeans. That is just perfect, I tell her, and she hands over what is perhaps my 87th pair of jeans. After Mango, I meandered over to Zara. I aimlessly browsed through the racks and picked up a few pieces to try on, you know, as part of my retail therapy. (Yes, it's a thing.)</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wasn't really intending to buy anything from Zara what with my recent purchase from Mango and all, but when I put <i>that</i> dress on, there it was: cute as heck and just begging to be bought. I didn't feel the least bit guilty about buying the dress because I did pass on the nice pair of black suede boots that I tried on with it. It was an exercise in self-restraint. The dress, sir, is my reward.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then the cashier tells me: You know, if you have a Metrobank credit card, and your purchase amounts to at least Php3,000, you get to pay for it 60 days later and at 3 months zero percent installment. That is some fine sales talk right there. So, in goes that gorgeous smelling cologne I'd been toying with at the counter while I waited for my turn at the register.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3M5y7awIRnY/Vh56USeCHoI/AAAAAAAAHK0/T2B56JgqVv4/s1600/2015-10-14%2B06.57.01%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3M5y7awIRnY/Vh56USeCHoI/AAAAAAAAHK0/T2B56JgqVv4/s320/2015-10-14%2B06.57.01%2B1.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After that, it was time for dinner. I passed by my favorite lemonade stand near the ice skating rink, bought myself a big cup of lemonade and I headed over to the food court. I was craving for Turk's Shawarma as it turns out. All meat, I told the guy behind the counter, none of that vegetable nonsense.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As I plunked myself down a table with my shawarma and lemonade on either hand, I saw a new food stall that sold <i>takoyaki</i>. <b>Ichiban Daco</b> - authentic Osaka Takoyaki, the sign read. Php35 for 4 pieces of takoyaki? Yes, please. O, I am so gullible. But I was grateful for that character flaw, because those were some really good <i>takoyaki</i>. (There were several flavors to choose from. I chose prawn.) I wolfed down each prawn takoyaki with fervor and I had to restrain myself from buying more when the last morsel was gone. Never mind that they were piping hot, they were delicious. So, yeah, if you find yourself in the SM Mall of Asia food court, do yourself a favor and order some yummy <i>takoyaki</i> from <b>Ichiban Daco</b>.</div>

That night when we were in <a href="http://foodnotebook.blogspot.com/2015/10/cbtl-at-starmall-prima.html" target="_blank">CBTL Starmall Prima</a>, mother and I came from Rustan's Supermarket - Evia. We did some grocery shopping and this interesting bottle of peri-peri sauce caught my eye. I've always enjoyed peri-peri chicken in that restaurant in Greenhills - Promenade and I thought, wouldn't it be nice if I could make that at home? That is why I didn't think twice about getting a bottle of <b>Nando's Peri-Peri Sauce</b> (in Garlic), even if it might be a bit pricey for the size- Php200 for 125 grams of sauce.<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This Sunday, we were finally able to cook with it. I used half the bottle to coat and marinate 3 chicken leg quarters and 3 chicken wings. Did I tell you we got a good deal on this 9 minute marinator? That contraption really works, I kid you not. Before the marinator, if we haven't marinated a chicken overnight or brined it properly, we are not touching that chicken. Now, all we need is 9 minutes, 18 to be sure, and we are good to go.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After marinating, the chicken pieces were grilled over hot coals. I must admit though, that brother and I were skeptical at first, having tasted the sauce and thereafter thinking maybe this is too sour, too spicy, not enough salt, etc. But when the chicken was done, it was delicious-- crispy skin, just the right amount of heat, juicy, and flavorful. It had a fresh sort of uncomplicated taste to it, a welcome change from the usual inasal and barbecue versions of grilled chicken that we make at home.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
I had a great time at the 2015 <b>Summer Send Off Block Party</b> in Ayala Alabang Village last June with my pals, Gen and Jeff. There were lots of unique and quirky knickknacks on sale and yummy food (those Kashi Maki from <i><a href="https://www.facebook.com/MyPinkWasabi.pastries" target="_blank">Pink Wasabi</a></i> were divine!) and drink options strewn about Makiling Park. Also, there were myriad activities that both kids and kids at heart could really get into. (There was even a little petting zoo where you get to pet a sheep. Understand, in a tropical country, seeing a sheep is like seeing a unicorn.)</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It was like a great big communal picnic- when we were not munching on our snacks on a <i>banig </i>and floor pillows we milled about the listening to live music. The whole thing had a back-to-your-roots, very laid back kind of vibe to it. I sure hope that I could go to more events like this. It was such a refreshing change of pace. </div>

Finally got to visit the new <b>Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf</b> at Starmall Prima, Daang Hari. Not to drive through but to actually sit there and have tea with my mother. There are quite a few things to love about the new CBTL branch.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kL8J-_hcwI8/VhU7hj4UkMI/AAAAAAAAHG4/euPvWRU9FcI/s1600/2015-10-07%2B09.53.18%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-kL8J-_hcwI8/VhU7hj4UkMI/AAAAAAAAHG4/euPvWRU9FcI/s320/2015-10-07%2B09.53.18%2B1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
It is spacious, with a lot of different table and chair permutations to suit one's needs during a visit. The furniture is cozy, so cozy you'd feel like ordering one drink after another just to have an excuse to stay there longer. Strong air conditioning, perfect for the summer my mother quips. And the over all design of the interior is stylish, from the light fixtures to the "plant wall" adorning one end of the cafe. My first time here and I must say, I think it's going to be one of my favorite CBTL branches.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IBbPUl0ETqw/VhU7DjixobI/AAAAAAAAHGw/kBQlAR6gRU4/s1600/2015-10-07%2B09.53.00%2B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-IBbPUl0ETqw/VhU7DjixobI/AAAAAAAAHGw/kBQlAR6gRU4/s200/2015-10-07%2B09.53.00%2B1.jpg" width="160" /></a>Speaking of novel, I took these pictures using my newly installed VSCO Camera app and uploaded this post using my mobile phone. Still fiddling with the filters though and I am not completely happy with the whole cabooze yet, but I'm optimistic.<br />
<br />
While I've used VSCO for the Mitsuyado Sei-Men photos, this is my first time to use my trusty old smartphone both to take pictures and to compose a post. Being a traditionalist of sorts, I've always preferred typing on a 13 inch (at least) computer screen rather than a device that fits in the palm of my hand. So this is a big step for me. This reminds me of a comment one of my students made about my bewildering lack of social media presence. So I'm not really much for Facebook or Twitter. But I have been blogging for over a decade. That should count for something right?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8743632606537920273.post-5527443109079886162015-10-07T13:08:00.001+08:002015-10-07T15:45:33.824+08:00Mitsuyado Sei-Men Fix<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<b>Mitsuyado Sei-Men The House of Tsukemen</b> is my go to restaurant of late. My mom loves it here, too, as she particularly loves the hot service tea. Addicted is the word she used. My lil ol' mother is <i>addicted</i> to Mitsuyado's hot tea.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: left; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><i><b>Shoyu Ramen</b><br />Php290, regular</i></td></tr>
</tbody></table>
While my mom often goes for the ramen or donburi bowls, I had busied myself with discovering the Tsukemen, or dipping noodles. I have tried several of the different varieties of Tsukemen already, and so far my favorite is the robust and tangy Yuzu Tsukemen. I like it better than the Miso Tsukemen photographed above (I ask for the ground pork to be placed in a separate bowl). And yes, I've tried the one with the cheese sauce. I must admit it sounded odd at first (think ramen and cheese) but it did not taste odd at all when I finally got to try it. Eating it felt surprisingly natural and it certainly does taste good.<br />
<br />
The Tsukemen noodles are thicker than your average ramen noodles, and so is the soup made for dipping. Being thicker in consistency, so designed to better cling to the noodles during the dipping ritual, the flavor of Tsukemen soup is richer, more concentrated than that of ramen. While probably not meant to be slurped like any regular ramen broth- or the healthiest thing in the world- I do this quite a bit. Speaking of healthy, I like the Karaage, too. We've ordered a plate of these delicious little morsels every single time.<br />

Mitsuyado has a lot of things going for it aside from the food. One is the service tea, obviously, your choice of hot or cold. Second is location. We do a lot of our shopping in S&R and Mall of Asia in Macapagal Boulevard, and Mitsuyado is in the Blue Bay Walk complex, right smack in the middle of the two. Third is store hours. We tend to get hungry after we do our shopping and this restaurant is open until 11PM, so... no rush with the shopping. Fourth is the interior design of the restaurant. It is minimalist and rustic, giving you the feel of being in a local Japanese ramen house complete with a ramen cart which doubles as a what I assume to be a bar. The friendly staff does a good job of keeping the place clean. Fifth is the price. For the quality and amount of food you get, I think it's pretty cheap actually.<br />

It's a good time to be living in the "South."</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Click image to enlarge</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>I don't know when it happened but all of a sudden I am being referred to as a person who lives in the South. I grew up knowing the South is Mindanao. Nowadays, when a person is said to be from the South, it most likely means Muntinlupa, Paranaque, or Las Pinas. They are Metro Manila cities, mind you. It's just that they are located in the Southern portion of the Metro. Incidentally, Cavite being right next to Las Pinas is also being referred to as the South, by association.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Funny how this term came to be. As far as I know there is no "West" or "East," or "Center" for that matter. And when we say "North," it most likely still refers to provinces in Ilocos and not Quezon City. Is it because of this ever worsening Metro Manila traffic? True, the traffic problem must have warped our perception of distance by now. What used to take ten minutes to traverse now takes an hour and a half. (Just you try getting to ATC from Zapote using the Alabang-Zapote Road, you'll understand.)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In any case, can I just say, I love how I no longer have to go out into the heart of Metro Manila just to enjoy CBTL. There are lots of outlets opening up right here in the South! Even better, for a quick caffeine fix, I can simply drive through. Take that Metro Manila traffic!</div>

Brazil!</b> is the restaurant that introduced me to one of my favorite dining experiences of all time: Brazilian Churrasco. There used to be branches of this restaurant in Powerplant Mall and in Serendra. Just recently, I learned that they have since relocated to Greenfield District in Mandaluyong. A bit far from where I live, but I think the trek will be worth it, especially with their promo, <i>October Food Fest</i>.<br />

They do not accept reservations for this promo. Walk-ins only apparently, so I am hoping against hope that when I do get there, I would not have to wait too long to be seated. The Brazil! Brazil!
